Open a pet profile and go to the Family tab.
If the parent belongs to you: open the pet edit form and select the father or mother from the dropdown. Only your own pets of a compatible species are shown.
If the parent belongs to another user: use the Request parent link button in the Family tab. Enter the other user's username or email. They will receive a notification and can approve or decline the request. The link is added automatically once approved.
